A photo walk with the Ricoh GR IIIX

A company wellness day, my best friend Thomas, and two Ricoh GR IIIs. A handful of shots from an afternoon exploring our own city.

I had Friday off thanks to a company wellness day, and managed to convince my best friend Thomas that wellness requires cameras and companionship.

With an abundance of both at our disposal, we grabbed our respective Ricoh GR IIIs (he, the classic 28mm version and I the 40mm variant) and headed downtown for the afternoon.

There's something about exploring your own city as a photographer, outside the daily grind, that I find very satisfying.

Here are a handful of my shots from the day:

Why take photographs?

To slow down time. More photos mean more memories, and a life that feels longer looking back. Plus some of my iPhone shots from this year.

Why take photographs?

Let’s listen to some music together

Let's listen to three tracks together: a Celtic-tinged string quartet, a maximalist Zedd song, and a patient, minimal build. Timestamps included.

"Reports From Unknown Places": a blog about the weather

Ninn Salaün's daily “meteorological fiction” reports the weather from undisclosed places, one paragraph at a time. I find it existentially soothing.
